Payroll Premier freezes for hours when changing printing preferences to Date Paid then it will stop

Hope someone can help this not so techy here.. it's so frustrating everytime we change the Printing preferences to "Date Paid", Payroll premier will freeze for hour then eventually will stop working. We are doing the usual backing up but then a message shows that the file has been corrupted. Now, I can't even edit a single employee detail and cannot generate reports. It's really distressful as we need to generate payroll summaries as required by ATO but can't do so! been calling for a tech support but no one picks up! help please..

Hi Berlin,
When the STP app opens Payroll Premier has to switch the reporting to date paid because all data sent to the ATO must be on date paid format.
If this is taking a significant amount of time, it might be worth archiving some data or starting a new file for the new year. Info - Archiving a Payroll Premier file

Thanks so much Rav! Yes it do take time when processing these.
Will definitely do your advice once our Payroll Premier works properly.
As of now, I can't even edit employee details or run a report because it says it's corrupted.
Do I need to start the new file for this?
Please help..

Hi Berlin,

Consider using the Payroll Premier Recovery Wizard to get your most recent good backup (usually the last completed pay run).
