Importing data from Cashbooks 2003 to Personal Plus & Home + Business 2022 error message

I have upgraded from Cashbooks 2003 to Personal Plus & Home + Business 2022 and get an error message 'Unable to load DLL C:\Program Files (x86)\Reckon Accounts Personal\convert03\qd3.dll'

Can anyone help to find a solution as I would like to import my data.

    Hi Emilio

The easiest way of restoring any missing/corrupt files related to the installation and/or operation of the software is to run a clean uninstall of the software before performing a clean install.

This is different to just a normal stock standard uninstall/reinstall and we have a guide that outlines it step by step which I'll link below -

    Hi @Emilio

The older product "Cashbooks 2003" would need to go through a specific upgrade path as indicated in the Installation and Upgrade Guide.

Recommend that you review that article for more details about changes from 2003 to the newer versions.

In the section Determine Your Upgrade Path it indicates that for that error, the file would need to go through an intermediate step from CashBooks 2003 to CashBook 2004 then to Home and Business 2005/06 before you go to Home & Business 2022.

You can download the older intermediate version Reckon Accounts Home and Business 2005/06 from the Reckon site

    Cashbook 2004 (Trial) | download

Home and Business 2005/06 (Trial) | download | License Key: KNZY62XJL6HR

I have tried this process before installing Home and Business 2005/06 trial but due to activation servers no longer working, the software will not open to do the update.

Did you install the CashBook 2004 trial?

Install that first and confirm whether you can open it and upgrade the CashBook 2003 data file to the CashBook 2004 format.

If the Home and Business 2005/06 software has been successfully installed, have you tried opening the Home and Business software without attempting to activate it?
