How do I search for existing posts related to a specific product? 🔍
How do I search the Reckon Community for existing posts related to specific products or categories?
Searching the Reckon Community is a great way to find existing posts or questions that have previously been created by fellow members. You may even find the answer to a question or topic that you're currently contending with that has already been answered or discussed! 😊
To start searching, enter some specific keywords relating to your query in the search bar then hit the Search button or simply press enter. A list of search results best matching your keywords will appear which you can browse and select from.
The best method though is to customise your search results for the Reckon product or category that is relevant to you by using the category filter.
Filter search results for your Reckon product
A really useful tip is to filter your search results by the product or category that is relevant to you/your query. You can do this by clicking the 'Discussions' option and then use the 'Category' list to select your Reckon product category. This will make your search results more relevant and specific to you by filtering existing posts for the relevant product only.
You can also user other filters such as date range, author, title and tags to drill down even further.
In a hurry? Use Smart Search!
As you start typing in keywords that are relevant to your query in the search bar, you'll be presented with suggestions that best match from all conversations and categories across the Community immediately in the list on-screen. Smart search will update the suggested list dynamically as you type.
Reckon Community: Receiving email notifications for categories I'm interested in
Email Notifications from the Reckon Community!
In addition to the general notification settings in your Community profile you can also receive email or pop-up notifications each time there is a new discussion, or even comment, posted in a particular Reckon software category that you might be interested in.
For example, if you want to be notified by either email or pop-up when a new discussion is created about Reckon Accounts Hosted or the Reckon Payroll App etc all you need to do is go that particular category that interests you and click on the bell icon at the top of the page then you can select the 'Discussions' notification option.
If you select the 'Discussions' option you will receive a notification each time a new discussion is created in the chosen category.
Discussions and Comments
If you select the 'Discussions and Comments' notification option you will receive a notification each time a new discussion AND new comment is posted in the chosen category.
⚠ Just a word of warning, if you select the 'Discussions and Comments' option you'll receive notifications each time a new discussion AND comment is created in that category which may become overwhelming to both you and your inbox. I'd recommend sticking with the 'Discussions' option.
How do I add an image or screenshot to my discussion?
Adding a screenshot or image is a great way to add visual context to your discussion.
It can also be extremely helpful to add when you've run into an issue that requires troubleshooting so that fellow Community members can see where things have gone astray, and in turn hopefully lead to a solution faster.
Adding a screenshot or image to your discussion is super easy and you have a few ways to do so. We'll start with the easiest way first.
If you have an image file saved to your PC that you'd like to include in your post you can simply drag the file into the conversation field and the Community will process and add the image to your discussion.
You can also use the 'Upload Image' button from the options at the bottom of the conversation field. This will open a window which will allow you to find and select an image file from where its saved on your PC.
ADJUSTING SIZE & POSITION OF AN IMAGE
There are options to adjust the size and position of your image so that you can tailor the look & appearance of your discussion. To do so, click on the image itself once its uploaded, you will options to adjust the position to the Left, Centre or Right and for sizing, the Community can adjust it to Small, Medium or Large.
Please note: The results you receive using these options are dependent on the dimensions of the original image uploaded.
Your Community has a new look! 💥
Reckon Community's new look! 💥
You may have noticed that the Reckon Community's home page has a slightly new look and feel! 💇♂️
My aim was to make things simpler and a little less cramped when first landing on the Community home page so you can easily see the latest announcements, discussions and navigate the site more efficiently.
I've made a few changes to the layout, including distinct sections for important info, discussions from categories you follow and most recent discussions along with clear links to other important areas such as finding a Reckon Partner, our Help Guides & more! The sidebar has also been streamlined with links to the most popular Reckon product categories on the Community to help you quickly find the content you're looking for.
Our community is always evolving, and I'm committed to improving your experience. I really hope you enjoy the new look and find it easier to use. There are some further upgrades to other pages on the site in the works so stay tuned!
Its a been a bit of a new undertaking for me and I might not have got everything perfect so if you have any feedback, suggestions or if you notice something isn't working, please don't hesitate to let me know 🙏
Thank you for being a part of our community!

Finding what you're looking for 🔍
USING THE SEARCH BAR
You'll find the search bar at the top of most our pages on the Reckon Community and its your best tool to find what you're looking for. Simply type in some keywords or phrase and the Community will present results best matching what you're looking for.
You'll find your Quick Links on the right sidebar and its a handy way quickly access discussions that you've created yourself, discussions that you've bookmarked and drafts of discussions or comments that you've started creating but haven't published just yet.
The Reckon Community is organised by categories that relate to specific Reckon products. Each category houses discussions and other content that is specific to that particular product. This way you can view and participate in which the Reckon software category that you're interested in or relates to you.
Check out the 'Explore all Reckon Software' page to see all software categories.
FOLLOW A CATEGORY YOU'RE INTERESTED IN
If you're interested in a specific Reckon software and want to follow the Community activity for it you can do so by following it!
To follow a category, simply click the bell icon and select the follow option. You'll then see discussions only from that category in your My Followed Feed on the home page!
RECEIVE NOTIFICATIONS FOR CATEGORIES YOU FOLLOW
Want to stay on the pulse with what's happening on the Community for a software you're interested in? You can opt to receive email notifications when there is new activity posted in the category by fellow Community members.
Simply select whether you'd like an email notification any time a new discussion is created in your chosen Reckon software category or if you'd like an email notification each time a new discussion and comment is made. This will also automatically add the chosen category to your My Followed Feed on the home page.
⚠ Just a word of warning, if you select the Discussions and Comments option you'll receive an email each time a new discussion AND/OR comment is created in that category which may become overwhelming to both you and your inbox. I'd recommend sticking with the 'Discussions' option.
If you're interested in a particular discussion and want to save it so you can either refer to it later or easily follow the activity on it, you can bookmark it!
Simply click the bookmark icon in the top right of an individual discussion and it will be saved your bookmarks. You can then access it from the My Bookmarks option in your Quick Links.
How to participate in the Reckon Community ✍
STARTING A DISCUSSION
We'd love to see you jump in and participate! To create a new discussion on the Reckon Community click on the New Post button and select 'New Discussion'.
Start creating your discussion by first selecting which Reckon software category it belongs in using the Select a Category option ie. which Reckon software your discussion relates to.
Give your discussion a clear, easy to understand title in the Discussion Title field then add the main content of your post below that.
I highly recommend that you add lots of detail to your post so that its easy for fellow Community members to understand. If you're contending with an error or issue, please outline the specific nature of it including screenshots where possible.
As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.. Adding an image such as a screenshot is super easy, just drag your image into the main content field or use the image upload button, check out more info here - How do I add an image or screenshot to my discussion?
You can make the content of your post even more dynamic through text styling, headings, bullet or numbered lists.. you can even add emojis! 😍

Email from the Reckon Community - 20 April
Good morning everyone
Some Reckon Community members may have received an email notification from the site yesterday evening out of the blue without any prompting.
I just wanted to give you a heads up that the email itself is not a scam/spam email but rather it was sent out inadvertently while I was conducting some site functionality testing in the background.
My sincere apologies for the confusion caused around this. You can delete the email outright.
If you wish, you can also login to your Community account and adjust your notification preferences using the link within the email or by signing in HERE.
I am implementing some changes to the site which will prevent this from occurring again in future.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to drop a comment below.
Apologies again and thank you for your understanding.
Is this a real email?????
⚠ 'Root' category displaying when creating a new post - Reckon Community
'Root of category tree' displaying when creating a new post - Reckon Community
I'm currently looking into an issue occurring when attempting to create a new post (discussion/question etc) on the Reckon Community.
After clicking the 'New Post' button a message of Root of category tree. Users should never see this is appearing at the top of the page and is preventing the selection of which Reckon product category your new post belongs in. I've flagged this with our Community technology partner and is under investigation.
If you continue your new post will still be published so please feel free to post and I'll move it to the right category manually while this is under investigation.
Alternatively, if you go to one of the individual Reckon software categories itself eg. Reckon Accounts Hosted, Reckon One, Reckon Payroll App etc and then create your post, it will automatically be created within that designated category for that specific software.
You can access any Reckon software category via the side menu on the right or the main category page linked below -
POLL: How do you access categories on the Reckon Community?
As you know the content on our Community is organised and categorised by the various Reckon software that we offer eg. Reckon Accounts Hosted, Reckon One, Reckon Payroll App etc.
I'm just looking for some feedback on how you use the site to access the specific categories we have for our software when viewing/reading/posting content for a specific software.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! 🎅🎄
🎅🎄 MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎄🎅
As the year draws to a close and the festive period gets into full swing, I just wanted to take a quick second to thank you all for a massive year on the Reckon Community 👏
We've got an absolutely HUGE year coming up in 2023 with Single Touch Payroll Phase 2 and we're also really excited to share a number of things our teams have been working on 🤩. Stay tuned!
I want to give a special mention to our regular contributors on the Community who take time out of their day to help follow Reckon users with their questions and also share their ideas & insights. @Acctd4, @Kris_Williams, @GerryWinter, @Zappy, @Bruce, @PhuongDo, @Tanya Briggs, @swakhlu01 ., @cosmic, @Datarec_ReckonLtd and many many others, you're all what makes this Community so special and a great place for all things Reckon & more.
Thank you all so much! 🙌
If you're having a break over the Christmas & New Year period, enjoy yourself and please stay safe. I'm taking a holiday as well and will be offline for a bit of an extended period, I'll be away from the 21st and officially back on deck 23 January but I'll be popping my head in from time to time.
As always though, the Community will be here if you need it and a couple of our senior technicians from the support team will be keeping an eye on things over the next few weeks.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas 🎅🎄 and Happy New Year 🎉.
Look forward to seeing you all again in 2023!
Everytime I want to use the forum I have to change my password. I need admin to help me please
I've created an account, why can't I create a new discussion or participate in existing discussions?
If you've created a new Reckon Community account but don't see the option to create a new discussion or have the ability to respond & participate in existing conversations then its likely that your email address has not been confirmed after sign-up.
When you are signed in to your account you will see an option in the bottom left which notifies you that your email address needs to be confirmed.
Please check your inbox for an email from the Reckon Community which contains info and the ability to confirm your email address. If you haven't received it, you can use the option in the notification pictured above to resend.
Once you have confirmed your email address you will have full member privileges including the ability to create new discussions and respond to existing ones.
Reckon Elite Update
A few weeks ago, Reckon Elite software has indicated to us there is an upgrade for several modules.
PM 184.108.40.206 to 220.127.116.11
and a multitude of Tax Modules, however we have never received an email with the release notes. I have also checked the webpage for Reckon Elite updates, and this has not be updated since the 22 July update. (PM 18.104.22.168)
Are the release notes for these update coming out? I do not want to update the software until I can tell what they are fixing.
Reckon Community email & pop-up notifications issue 🔔 **RESOLVED**
Email & Pop-up notifications issue
Currently email and pop-up notifications are not triggering normally for posts & discussions on the Reckon Community site.
At the moment your usual notifications when you receive a reply to your post, when you're @ mentioned, or any advanced notifications you may have set for specific categories aren't coming through.
The cause of the issue is a wider one with our platform provider who are investigating this and we're confident they should have this resolved very soon.
We're working with our provider to expedite this as much as possible and sincere apologies for the inconvenience this is causing at the moment.
Update - 23 August
Our provider has resolved the issue affecting notifications and they are now working as normal.
Back on Monday!
Just a heads up, I'll be on leave for the next couple of days and back on Monday the 8th 🌴
My knowledgeable friends from the tech support team will drop in from time to time in my absence to keep an eye on things.
Take care and see you all then! 👋
